Emerge is a unique program in itself, offering a myriad of services to the homeless and to individuals/families who are about to become homeless.  We take an active role in dealing directly with our clients in an effort to teach and support them through their transitional period.

Emerge consist of four programs; Women’s Outreach, Homeless Prevention , Emergency Assistance  and our most recent endeavor, Emerge Transitional Care Center.  Our programs support families to develop stable relationships and improve their basic life skills.

Our Homeless Prevention program began September, 2006 and has assisted over 150 households.  Eligible individuals are provided home deposit assistance, utility assistance and supportive services directly related to the prevention of homelessness.  The Emerge Emergency Assistance program was established in April 2007 to help meet the needs of clients who became homeless due to a life changing event.

With the assistance of the Emerge program, clients now have been enabled to acquire jobs and transportation, becoming self-sufficient.  Continued support to families and individuals allow us to help more people in need of our services.

Emerge Tranistional Care Center opened January 31, 2009.  We provide emergency temporary housing to single -women/children up to 90 days.  Our facility has five bedrooms that accommodates five families; a mother with up to three children, or a seven single women.  Clients are assigned caseworker that provide resources and/or referrals assisting clients with computer job search, job readiness, and personal development and life skills training.

Our goal is to raise community awareness by:
     *  Reaching out to people
     *  Creating lasting change
     *  Understanding the root causes and effects of poverty
     *  Providing a solution

Finances:  Emerge receives its support from individual contributions, the NAP grant, foundation grants, and special events.  Emerge is a 501 (c) (3) non-for-profit organization.
